Home Remedies for Sick Cats : Home Remedy for a Vomiting Cat

When your cat is vomiting a lot it really is a big deal. Cats can vomit for a variety of reason, some serious and some just plain annoying. My cat will eat like a pig and then vomit little spots of good about the house. He is a free feeder but his belly only likes certain foods and when I try to go to a cheaper brand or a brand he does not like then his tummy will rebel all over my carpet.

Cat health is a difficult thing to understand at times. For cats an concessional spell of vomiting can mean pretty much nothing, just keep an eye on it in case it is more.  But for a lot of cats that are not vomiting up hairballs or such then they might be overeating as in eating too fast. Cats should be fed only twice to three times a day at most and not allowed to free eat (yes I am changing that with my cat, however he is older and set in his ways, so now he will get on the table and counter to find scraps of food)

If your cat ate something disagreeable or has a tummy ache then the following recipe should be a good one to give to them. It will help with the vomiting and discomfort. If it does not help then you probably should get your cat to a veterinarian.

Three herbs to use for this recipe:

  • Licorice- soothing for digestive tract, immune supporting and relaxes the bowels
  • Slippery elm-rich in minerals, soothing, coats and soothes digestive tract
  • Marshmallow  root-soothing, mucalids and helps promote a healthy lining of the digestive tract

Combine then all in a blender to get as close to a  powder form as possible

Give 1/4 teaspoon added to food twice a day

If you do need to take your cat or pet to the vet then you really should  look into pet insurance
