In this video the herb Cat’s claw will be explained and discussed. I found it extremely interesting and I know you will enjoy the information.

  • In Peru they export 3-4 billion dollars worth of Cat’s claw as raw material and finished product.
  • Cats Claw from the Peruvian rain forest is the best known of the countries 2000 known medicinal plants
  • Extracted from the leaf or bark of the plant and taken as a potion, tea, elixir or pill
  • Cats claw has been tested on and proven on animals to boost the immune system.
  • The local population where cats claw grows has used it for many centuries and say that it helps with inflammation, gastritis, arthritis and Cancer

Rheumatologists wanted to find a treatment for inflammation. They have used aspirin and Ibuprofen but they have such harsh side effects that they have gone back to the natural healing herbs and have done viable research on people.  They wanted only to find an alternative medicine that would not have any of the side effects that aspirin has of digestive problems.

Cats claw has demonstrated analgesic effect and anti-inflammatory effect in osteoarthritis over a one year trial.

A man who is the head of a Peruvian pharmaceutical company says that only a small amount of three percent of their income is made from natural plant remedies.

He then became President of the Peruvian institute of medicinal plants and his idea when he formed the institute was that he wanted to promote certain values and to use more medicinal healing herbs in their sales.

The two values he wanted to promote were

  • Prevent deforestation
  • Farmers and locals would benefit from any commerce

He went out into the jungles and met a well known shaman, or natural doctor that had practiced for many years and was told if you

  • Take the bark of a Cat’s claw herb
  • Place it into a 5 gallon container of water
  • Leave it for 8 hours
  • Then give it to the patient to take for kidney and liver problems and they will get better.

Traditionally locals have gone for the bark and destroyed the leaves…but it is the leaves that hold the potency.

Farmers and pharmaceutical companies have gotten together and are cultivating cats claw..that way the plants will last for five years and you can keep harvesting the leaves and not destroy the natural habitat of the cat’s claw.

The result of the year long study was that it has an analgesic effect better than placebo, equal to aspirin and no digestive pain or problems.

It is important to get pure cats claw by controlling the quality where it grows.
